“May I Have Your Attention”

There are so many things and people today vying for our time and attention.  We live in an age of information overload.  It has been speculated that over 100,000 words cross our eyes and ears each and every day.  Most of these words are intended to communicate some idea or sway our thoughts/opinions.  With so many words, ideas and concepts coming at us, what do we do?  We need an unchanging source of truth.  We need that trustworthy marker of true north.  We are blessed because we have it in the timeless, inerrant and infallible Word of the Living God – the Bible. However, if we reduce the Word of God to just a “guide for living” or a “playbook for life”, I think that we really miss the true intention of God for the impact He desires for His Word to have in us and through us in our relationship with Him.  The Bible is much more about relationship than knowledge.
