I know that this Sunday is Father’s Day, but I want to tell you a story about a mom.  Sonya Carson married young, had two boys and was divorced not many years later.  She was an uneducated Africa American woman who cleaned houses for the wealthy.  However, she was determined for a better life for her sons, and on Sunday, I’ll share with you some seemingly simply activities she consistently practiced that changed the world for her two sons. In the past two weeks, we’ve looked at character traits of people who display godly wisdom by being serious and being teachable, rather than worldly wis-dumb.  In this closing week of our study we will return to the book of Proverbs and focus on one last character trait of individuals who are truly wise – being responsible. Sonya Carson’s life motto was “Learn to do your best. God will do the rest.”  It is a great picture of taking personal responsibility while cooperating with God.   Ms. Carson wasn’t going to settle for placing blame or simply giving up.  She chose to take responsibility to change what she could and leave the rest to God. I hope that you’ll join us Sunday as we look at becoming wise by being responsible. Learning to walk the wise path with you, Tiger
