Strength in Right Relationships

It was January 2014 when I realized I needed to make some significant health changes if I wanted to be healthy and energetic for my wife and kids as we all got older.  The problem was that I had limited knowledge of how to do that.  So, I contacted a nutritionist.  I quickly developed an accountability relationship with him.  Every morning, I would text him my morning weight.  Conversations would sometimes include my workout routines along with adjustments that I needed to make to my diet.  From January 1, 2014, to November of the same year, I lost nearly 70 pounds, thanks in great part to the accountability that was available to me.  At the end of November, I made a decision.  I believed that I could succeed on my own without that relationship. Fast forward to the present day.  Here we are five years later.  I am somewhere in between where I started and finished in 2014.  I have come to the conclusion that my struggles to maintain ideal health revolve around one principle that has been missing since the end of 2014 – an accountable relationship in that area of my life. Such it is in the body of Christ.  From the very beginning, it was never God’s design for us to live life on an island disconnected from right relationships.  Remember our key passage for this series?

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his spirit. Ephesians 3:16

I believe part of those “glorious, unlimited resources” are the right relationships that God orchestrated for us that provide great strength as we navigate our lives. I pray that you can join us this coming Sunday as we look at three very important questions dealing with Strength in Right Relationships.  Ask God to prepare our hearts and minds to receive the Word given to us regarding this area of life as we continue on our quest to strengthen our spiritual core.
