The Sufferings of Jesus

As we continue our “Back to Basics” series, I look forward to taking an in-depth look with you at the phrase that we believe Jesus “suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.” The crucifixion – the death of Jesus for the sins of all – is the single greatest tragic, beautiful event in the history of man.  Some have asked what the death of Jesus means for them.  Many have been left confused as to how the death of a Jewish carpenter more than 2,000 years ago impacts their life.  Others believe in the death of Jesus in the same realm of an inspirational bedtime story rather than the most brutal and horrifying event in the history of mankind.  For others, there are many who have heard this story so many times they have allowed themselves to become desensitized to its truth, and what the suffering, death, and burial of Jesus means for us as sinners.  The death of Jesus Christ is God reconciling us to God and with one another as a body of believers. Join me as we take a very in-depth look at the proof, the prophesy, the pain, and the provision that is so beautifully displayed for each and every one of us in the suffering, death, and burial of Jesus.  I hope you can join us, as I believe God has something powerful to reveal to each and every one of us this coming Sunday. We are also so very excited to celebrate those who have decided to follow Christ’s example in baptism this Sunday.  I believe it is going to be a powerful, exciting, and inspirational day.  I encourage you, make plans to be here. Blessings, Pastor Brandon
